Thread OP
Woodhill, Queensland, Australi
I have identified this plant in my backyard and would like someone to identify it. I have drawn an arrow towards the green stalk of the plant I'd like to identify.

Hi wlewisg92, Welcome! to the site!

Can you upload a photo of the main part of the plant at ground level?

What you are showing in your current photo looks like possibly an Agave bloom spike but without seeing the entire plant, that's just a wild guess.

By the way, I've moved this over to the Plant ID Forum where it will get more views by our knowledgeable Plant identifiers. Green Grin!

The blue arrow appears to end on a brown wooded leafless stick, rather than the flower spike of the Agave slightly to the left of the arrow.
IF this is the plant to be id then we need far more clues..leaves, flowers, seed pods, berries etc.

Originally I didn't look closely enough at the photo provided to even notice the leaves of the plant sticking up at the bottom of the photo. I'm still going with Agave and that green stalk is a bloom spike.

This Queensland Government article states that Agave are widely cultivated in Australia: https://www.publications.qld.g... and the following 3 species have become naturalized in Queensland:
Agave (Agave americana)
Caribbean Agave (Agave angustifolia)
Sisal (Agave sisalana)

Here are single photos from our database of each of those 3 species but if you click on the blue links above it will take your to our database entry for that particular species where you can view many more member photos for comparison:
