It is growing wild on a tree.


Location: Noida, India.

How big is the fruits?,
Assuming that the tree behind is a Mimusops elengi, if that tree is indeed Mimusops elengi, using the leaves as scale. I guess the mystery fruit is not so big, probably around 5-6 cm?

Is the skin entirely smooth or does it has bumps?, tiny spines?. I can't see clear. Can you take a closer picture

How was the interior, ? does it has big/small seeds?, does it has red or black aril/substance coating the seeds? can you cut open one and take picture?

Mean while my guess it something Momordica Sp, like Momordica balsamina
Or it could also be Trichosanthes sp

Closer image and picture of one cut open might help to ID it better

While there are numbers of wild cucurbits & gourds... Also to be considered are Passiflora...
Too bad that you don't have pictures of the leaf while vine was in active growth.

Update: Seems to be Tricosanthes cucumeroides.
