The sale went live at midnight, Oregon time. So I stayed up reading until 3 am my time! This our my only peony purchases this year from any seller.

I got 2 tree peonies (Icarus & Ice Age), 1 intersectional (Unique) & 1 herbaceous (Roselette).

Black Friday Shopping, done!

Anyone else buy something?

Wow, so cold here, I don't see how you can plant them, Gary. Middletown can't be warmer than Athens. Perhaps it will warm up the second week of December, but now we're 15 degrees below normal. And wind chill, to boot.

It is extremely cold here. I haven't checked the ground though to see if it is frozen. If so, I will overwinter in a refrigerator until spring.

I agree Liz - I've always received lovely roots from Adelman's. Too late to order roots here of course if only because I would have to find the planting area and clear two feet of snow from it D'Oh! However, I have just done an order for, amongst other perennial seeds, some species peony seeds. Plant World Seeds (https://www.plant-world-seeds....) has some worth trying, and this is an inexpensive way to do it when pushing the hardiness zone. BTW they ship globally.

I bought Woody 'Sonoma Sisters' from Adelman's. I plan on over wintering in the garage.

Oh, that will be fun to see when it blooms, Frank.
Will you pit it in a large pot first or just overwinter it in the box it came in?

I'm sure it will be fine in the box, Frank.
Watch out for mice. I am having way too many this year.

Thank You! Oscar - very generous of you Smiling At the moment, with limited seed space, I am only growing (purchased) species seeds that might push the growing Zone - p.daurica, peregrina and mlokosewitschii for example - have you tried any of these?

Frank, that was the root that had me teetering on the edge of ordering! I'll be watching to see how yours performs!

Liz, I am curious to see how it does as well. Also, I have never over wintered a peony root in the garage...

Valerie, are species peonies difficult to grow from seed? Not being very familiar to the peony world, I had never heard of species peonies or your seed source but I am intrigued. Janet
