Can you tell us a bit more? By "surprise bloom", may we presume that you are in the northern hemisphere (as opposed to the "down under" gang)? So this may be a rebloom?
Also do you have a height? Does it have any scent?
It's a bit hard to tell about the beard... is it tipped violet or white, and is it brown or mustard going into the throat?
We'll give it a go, but it helps to have as much info as possible.
(My gut says that it is a Sutton iris, but I haven't found a match yet. More info on the beard would really be helpful.)
