No yard to put them in ,but I just ordered several from Peony Shop Holland. They put their price list up when I had a weak moment.

Agreed, was very surprised at how few in this year's selections were not their personal introductions, seemed around half. Hoping this isn't going to be the trend for them. They have such a massive inventory of varieties. It's amazing that there is enough demand at those prices to make it worthwhile to introduce new varieties in the numbers he has. Was it 2 or 3 years ago that almost half of the new registrations were from The Peony Shop Holland?

What's the shipping rate charged by Peony Shop Holland like for sending roots to US?

The shipping is $3 per root, at least it was 2 years ago. I always loved their roots.

I am also surprised that they sell old varieties in very limited amount. I hope they will add more peonies for sale during the winter.

Just make sure to select the group shipping when checking out for the best rate. They have an arrangement for all to be shipped to a single place and then divided up and mailed out. Their shipping rates include that 2nd US postage amount as well. It's really very reasonable considering it pays for phyto certificate and customs as well as shipping. I remembered it as closer to 5-6$/root but it's been a few years since I ordered as well. If you accidentally select the wrong option you'll know right away, your order total will double! You can get it fixed with an email to them, though!

In Canada there is a broker in Ontario who receives the whole shipment. We then pay shipping from there for our orders.

Both Adelman's and Solaris are open for the year, added around a dozen woodies! Yay!

I think there was only one Spellbound and I nabbed it!!! It's more than I like to spend but when it sounded like there was only one chance, I just did it.

Gary says he prefers Southern Beauty - anyone want to weigh in on which they prefer?

I think both are excellent additions to any home garden. If I can grow only one though, I would pick Spellbound because I prefer its color and upward facing flowers. You can't go wrong with either one. I would love to be able to grow both.

Wow, Adelman offers Tree Peony Brassy Lady for only $65. This is a really pretty tree peony.

Karen, Burkhardt says that flowers are barely held above the foliage of Brassy.

Orders from Adelman's and Solaris. So far only woody peonies.

That is true and it is also a very slow grower for me. But the flowers color is so unique and absolutely beautiful. It's a treat and delight to see it each year.

Wow, wonderful purchases from both Adelmam and Solaris, Liz. A lot of the ones on Solaris are very new to me . And most on your list is sold out when I check them out on the Solaris website.

Liz, that looks great! Thalia has been in the running many times for me but I have so little space it's never quite made it - I'm really excited to see how it blooms in your garden.

I was on Solaris when it went live. In just a couple of hours, about 30 tree peonies were off the grid.

For me, they are essentially the same flower, but SB has a much fuller double bloom. But I love both.

I hope it does ok in my garden! I like it for the orange color and the description says it's variable from year to year and garden to garden, so fingers crossed.

What time did Solaris go live and does he go live the same time every year?

I was awake (coming home from a party) until 4:30am and I was surprised it hadn't posted yet.

Liz, you picked so many great ones! I'm also excited to see Baron and Bunting. They looked really interesting.
