Rhododendron 'Nancy Evans'

Always a most healthy rhododendron, 'Nancy Evans' opens from the bud a raspberry red but transforms to full bloom as this buttery yellow.

In January 1977, Governor Daniel Evans and first lady Nancy left the Governor's Mansion of the state of Washington. Nancy's friends and admirers gave her a unique going-away present, a new hybrid rhododendron, named in her honor. 90-year-old Nancy died in January 2024 but rhododendrons in her name will live forever.
