I'm looking for some 'reds' (brick, brown, wine-but-not-purple)..... I have Red Dirt Road, Infrared, War Chief, Ancient Airs, Cajun Spices, Chief Quinaby, Cordoban Leather, Fortunate Son, Front Of The Line, Paprika Fonos, Renegade Lady, Red Delight, Ruby Tracery, Smoldering Fire, Valentino....

Okay....I have more than I thought, but most of those are brand new from last years orders so I haven't seen them bloom in person yet, nor do I know how they'll grow in my garden. War Chief is a fabulous grower, Red Dirt Road - not so much.

What reds are your favorites, in terms of color and growth?
Pic is Red Dirt Road, 2023 bloom.

The red iris in my collection is 'The Red Douglas' (Jacob Sass, 1934).

Grateful Red is a good grower.

as is one of my favorites, Cherokee Blaze:

If you want smaller iris then Botta Bing is really red:

And Roaring Fire :

And Cat's Eye:

Another good red iris from Jacob Sass was 'Solid Mahogany'. Don't have this one, but it looks interesting.

I have a few, but my favorite is my "World Famous Red NOID".. Rolling on the floor laughing I love it's color and brilliant fragrance.

I'm running late this morning, brought in the new year, now wishing I hadn't. Glare I'll add a few later.

I don't have a picture, but Red-handed is really nice. There are neat iridescent highlights to the nice red.

Tom, could your famous red NOID be Friday Night?

Daisy - I grew it side by side with Dynamite and it looked pretty identical, but then it wouldn't be the famous Red Noid anymore....

One of these is Dynamite, the other two the FRN.

Looks like a match, Tom. I had interpreted your last photo before these as having a red beard. But if it doesn't, then Friday Night would not be a good match.
