I have a fair number of F's to share but before I do, here's a couple of chuckles...

This cultivar, like it's relative 'Blue Ivory', is prone to exhibiting a kind of bleeding which is thought to be brought on by stress; that could be moisture related or temperatures. While somewhat unsightly it's nothing of a permanent nature.

'Fortunei Albomarginata', often referred to in the trade as 'Albomarginata' which label we also applied to 'Undulata Albomarginata'. Side by side the two are easy to tell apart, the glaucous one is the Fortunei variety. There's also a slight overall difference in colouration, as you see here in the second picture.

'Fortunei Albopicta' is a viridescent variety that can turn almost a solid green by season's end. How quickly it looses its variegation seems to depend on the amount of direct light it receives.
Thumb of 2025-01-10/PieterK/b49b92
The picture above is from early May, the one below is from mid-July and the variegation has gone pretty green by now.

I do like the colour of the flowers...

'Fragrant Blue', which I've had for well over 20 years and I was hard pressed to perceive any scent from its flowers for probably the first 10 years or so that I had it. It finally reliably exhibits a lovely scent which is rather different from the most other fragrant flowered ones such as 'Guacamole' or 'Fragrant Bouquet'.

Speaking of 'Fragrant Bouquet'....

It does set seed, though not reliably for me and I don't think I've ever had seedlings from it.

'Fragrant Dream' and Fragrant Bouquet' are very close relatives and virtually impossible to tell apart @10ft.

'Fire Island' in early April. It's viridescent and the first flush leaves are rather sensitive to bright light, too bright and they desicate.

I've now relocated it to a part of the yard that's strictly open shade and it shows better there and brightens up that corner of the yard for a few weeks until it goes green..

The flowers are nice and rich in colour.

Maybe First Blush would look better as a hanging basket where you can look at the stems at eye level.

Hosta 'Frozen Margarita' 24w33 26mo

I do not have many hostas and only 3 that start with F. Actually I have 4 that start with F because I have 2 frozen margaritas. I bought both in 2022, the second one not realizing that I already had one:) I hardly ever buy 2 of anything unless they are difficult to propagate.

I'm going to divide my 'F' hostas into 3 groups as I've got quite a few.

'Fire and Ice', July 16
This one seems to like this location. I thought it would be too sunny after we lost a large tree, but it actually grew better.
Thumb of 2025-01-21/ViolaAnn/89a43b

'Fire Island', Aug. 27
Late season bloom. This one had been in a large pot for several years after it started doing poorly in the garden. But I need to find it a new garden location.
Thumb of 2025-01-21/ViolaAnn/ff505a

'Firn Line', June 30 and Aug. 8
I've found this to be a much better grower than 'Blue Ivory'.
Thumb of 2025-01-21/ViolaAnn/ea4617

'First Blush', June 20
How much mine blushes varies. Never as much as Pieter showed, but in 2024, there wasn't much. I agree about the petioles which are quite a spectacular red.
Thumb of 2025-01-21/ViolaAnn/9e6181

'First Frost', June 20
Fairly early season photo. It got smashed on July 15 when a neighbour's tree fell into our yard; so I'm looking forward to seeing it again in 2025.

'Fortunei Aureomarginata', July 16
A really old hosta that seems to have changed a bit in colour over the years.
Thumb of 2025-01-21/ViolaAnn/d81f29

'Fragrant Bouquet', June 20
I've had this for nearly 20 years and it would do better with more sun as the trees have grown a lot.
Thumb of 2025-01-21/ViolaAnn/0edf07

'Francee', June 30 and July 24
This one was damaged when the tree fell on July 15, but it recovered quite well by season end. It has been much moved and divided over the 30 years I've had it. I also have a much smaller division that grew from what must have been a tiny speck of crown material left behind when it was moved from its original location.

I keep this in a large pot because of the trailing nature of the leaves. It simply looked blah in the garden.
Thumb of 2025-01-21/ViolaAnn/32e780

'Frosted Dimples', July 25 for both pictures
This was dug, divided and moved in 2023 and seems to like the new location. I've had it a long time.
