Enough of that, on to the T's with the first one being something you probably don't see very often, 'Tiki Torch'.

It did show some instability a couple of years ago but that never amounted to anything... Sad

Dear friend gave me 'Tortilla Chip' a couple of years ago and all I seem to be able to find is a flower picture, and you're right, it really doesn't look any different from the rest of the 'Fragrant Bouquet' family in that respect.

'Twilight' is my next one and I know I have 'Twilight Time' but cannot seem to locate any pictures.

Next up one of my own seedlings. It's a cross between sieboldii and 'Ray of Hope'. It came by it's name because when it started to grow out it reminded me of just that, tousled hair Smiling

One of the most unique aspects of this cross is that it has always thrown fused flowers for me, they never fully open.

The final T is a Hyacinthina sport . I call this 'Twisting The Night Away'. I discovered it about 20 years ago as an anomaly in a 'Fortunei Hyacinthina' I had in my front yard. That first year it was just an edge streak on a single leaf. The following year there were more leaves with changes and decided to leave those in place until I could comfortably excise the shoots from the crown. The first picture is the year after I separated it and you can see all stages: plain, streaked and variegated.

As with a lot of sports it has proven to be on the unstable side. The streaky form I label as 'Twisting in the Wind'

And that's all for my T's!

After seeing Ralph's post I was reminded I also have 'Tick Tock' and I have plenty of pictures.

'Tenryu' Nice vase shape

'Tootie Mae'

'Time Traveler' In the ground since 2020, likes morning sun, never sure if it will emerge in the spring. Likes to sport, separated it out once already.

'Twice as Nice' A favorite hosta, slow growing but nice thick leaves and coloring.

What a fascinating flower on that one!

Pieter gave me a piece of 'Twisting the Night Away' when I visited Vancouver in 2011. It grew well for a couple of years, but then stabilized to be completely white in the leaf centre and ceased growing well. You can see pictures near the bottom of this gallery page and on the top of the next page. https://violaann.smugmug.com/G...

I currently have 8 "T" hostas in my garden; so I'll divide them into 2 posts.

'Tears of Joy', June 30
New in 2010, this is a VERY unusual hosta with very tiny folded leaves, a bit like a miniature 'Praying Hands'. But the most unusual thing about it is the flowers which have no petals, just the inner parts. Mine didn't bloom in 2024, but I'll find an earlier picture. It's a sport of 'Tiny Tears'.

From 2018
Thumb of 2025-02-13/ViolaAnn/36b597

'Teaspoon', July 8, July 14. New in 2008, this seedling of 'Birchwood Parky's Gold' x 'Golden Tiara' has little round leaves but grows rapidly. One of the cuter hostas around.
Thumb of 2025-02-13/ViolaAnn/0800c1

'The Razor's Edge', June 30. This was new in 2011. This small hosta has elongated green leaves with a rippled edge along with bright red petioles and white backs. Mine had been marking time at the back of my garden until I dug it in 2023, divided it and replanted some of it.
Thumb of 2025-02-13/ViolaAnn/0f7a98

'Tick Tock', June 30, July 8 This sport of 'Gold Drop' was new in 2006. A nice compact mound of yellow leaves surrounded by dark green margin. With its smaller size and rapid growth rate, it is ideal for use as an edging plant or ground cover. Mine was last divided in 2011.

And the other "T" hostas are:

'Tickle Me Pink', Aug. 27, Sept. 9
New 2014. This is a very pretty plant that gets brighter yellow as the season progresses and the tips of the leaves are brushed with pink. Nice red flowers scapes and late season purple flowers. It's fertile and I've had several nice seedlings from it.
Thumb of 2025-02-13/ViolaAnn/05f86a

'Tiny Tears', June 30
This fast-growing mini was new in 2010. I grew it in a pot for a long time, but it's capable of holding its own in the garden.

'Touch of Class', Aug. 8
Another sport of 'June'. Intense blue leaves set off by a striking yellow-gold centre. A green colour is created where the gold and blue overlap on these upright thick leaves. Tetraploid.
Thumb of 2025-02-13/ViolaAnn/ab824c

'Twist of Lime', June 30. This mini was new in 2008 and grows as well as the rest of the 'Lemon Lime' family though I've only recently tacked it onto the edge of my 'Lemon Frost' border. It has a very narrow darker green margin but I've found it difficult to show that in a photograph.
