Some kind of Persicaria? in the Plant ID forum

Spotted in SW NC about a month ago in a wooded (un-gardened) area, little patches of snow nearby. Leaves about 2.5 to 3" long. TIA!

I don't think it's a Persicaria but I don't know what it might be either.

Thank you for the comments! Silver, those are great pics and do look like the pics I posted. I'd love to visit that site again, a house we rented for a few days, 2 states away, but no plans to do that that exist at the moment, unless you're curious enough to sponsor. LOL! I would promise to take a LOT more pics.
