My husband came home this week with a clearance potted plant from Walmart but it had no tag in it. I know I've seen these before, and am sure it's a bulb, but I just can't remember what they are called. Most bloom stalks were snapped off. Only the one fully open and one bloom remaining. In person, it's a bit pinker and less peach in color.

Looks like a tulip that is starting to fade out.
As Yogi Berra said, “It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”

It's a tulip, but are you looking for the specific name? That might be difficult...there are SO many varieties and they're easier to ID before fully open. Beautiful colors 🩷

OK, tulip wins the prize. I guess I've never seen them fully opened up like this. Thanks, everyone.

Maybe its a Parrot Tulip.

You could plant it out in your garden and maybe it would be back next year. I love tulips but they only last a year or so - its too warm in 8b.

Agree.
I've found a few species tulips that continue to bloom each year... but most of those fancy tulips? The city plants in autumn, and pulls them in the Spring and throws them away.

Maybe you could plant now, and dig after the plant goes into dormancy, refrigerate for a month or two before planting in the autumn.
Around here, we are all advised to refrigerate those new bulb purchases before planting.
