This Aglaonema comes to me from Glasshouse Works labeled as 'Black Cherry'. Upon checking the database it looks a lot like 'Crete' and a couple of others.

That's pretty! I'm not sure about all of these new Ag's lately, some look the same to me, but I am glad they are here. That looks like one I got at WM over winter.

Yeah, if it looks different, it's worth having... a few. ;)

What a beautiful Chinese evergreen. I almost grabbed a plain green one in a 4 inch pot at Walmart the other day..... Instead I bought 2 asparagus ferns on sale for .37 cents each! They were on sale because they were meant for annual planting.
Gardening is an art,the soil is the paper, and plants are the paintbrush
Dave, your 'Black Cherry' is a beauty and it does look a lot like mine that was labeled 'Creta'(but in the database and elsewhere it's shown as 'Crete'! It's such a shame that nurseries put so many different names on the same plant but I guess it is possible that there are some variances in color/pattern that I just don't see.
I ordered two that are supposed to be Thai Aglaonemas from a co-op here on ATP recently; Aglaonema 'Valentine' and Aglaonema 'Anyamanee' ... but neither of them match photo's I've googled of those two! One of them looks a lot like my large plant ('Creta') and the other looks nothing like either Valentine or Anyamanee. The smaller of the two has dark pink veining on the reverse of the leaves; the bottom side is actually prettier than the top! I'm hoping the color is more enhanced as they mature. I love Aglaonema's, they seem easy care to me, doing well in lower light situations and getting pretty dry between waterings.
My large 'Creta' and the two I received in the recent Co-op:
Aglaonema 'Silver Bay' and the regular Aglaonema commutatum:
Two smaller A. commutatum plants:
I also have a couple in my big terrarium:

I googled for 'Black Cherry' and the only thing I find are yours here on ATP and this one on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aglao... I logged into FB and wow, that site has some real beauties; but I couldn't figure out what the names were.

Thanks Dave! This is one I used to have labeled 'Cory' (don't know what ever happened to it but it might be hiding out in the yard beneath a shrub Or it may be one I lost in a winter freeze a few years ago.) It looks a lot like my 'Silver Bay' which I've also seen labeled 'Gold Bay'!%#$&, although the variegation looks more silver than gold .... who knows what it's true identity is!

Some of my Ag's made flowers this summer, but none of the 'chunks' of red-edge leaf ones. Has anyone seen theirs make flowers?

That's beautiful, such a bright white. The ones my other Ags made were more of an ecru. Glad I asked!

How are these pretty Ags doing through this long, dreary winter? OK here, just waiting to get back outside I guess, not growing, but look fine. Did anyone succumb to the pink ones during Valentine's day? I saw more of these red ones too.

Last August I posted a photo(see the first entry of this thread) of the new Aglaonema that I purchased for my office. At the time of that photo the plant was in a 4 inch pot. Here is that same plant as it grows in the office now in a 15 inch pot. Seems like impressive growth to me for 9 months. It gets nothing but florescent lighting and the color is excellent.
