This one wins scape of the year.... it always has amazing branching, but this year, it has outdone itself. Truganini (Curt Hanson) ![]() |

And, one of my very favorites, but never hear it mentioned anywhere... Zazu is a wonderful peachy-orange that is tall, has big flowers that pinch and have throat ruffles. Very hard to get seed with it or on it. Zazu Pitts (McNeil Carter) ![]() |

One of the scapes on Truganini --- not bad in a year when so many are really tall, but top branched. Unusual amount of rain this year!![]() |

Nice branching on Truganini! I had my second bloom on my peach seedling... I was gone all day so this was late. It's lighter at the end of the day. Nothing else is blooming and I have my last Iris Dynamite bloom...maybe tomorrow some other DLs will open. It's hard to be patient! Susan it's fun to see yours and know mine won't be long behind. I love Kansas Kitten! And the picture of Cameroon is great with the white lily behind. ![]() |

Jules what zone are you?> Will the Hansons survive zone 4? |

Dorathy, I am in 5/6, Curt Hanson is in 5. I know Gary Shaben (sp?) grows a lot of Curts in Minnesota (I think that is where Gary lives....) I don't think they would have a problem. If there are particular ones your interested in, and your not a member of the AHS robin, I can post a question there for you.... surely someone in zone 4 grows Hanson's! |

It's probably worth trying some. I haven't killed any DLs some just shrink over the years! Some of the evs have surprised me, Pandora's Treasure that was a bonus from Maryott is going crazy here, tripled in size and throwing up scapes..you never know. I love my Northwind Dancer and Drifters. Schabens are good! This will open up some new horizons. |

Since everyone seems to be looking at these threads, did everyone see this thread from Sunshines2day? I have never heard of the daylily, or the hybridizer. http://cubits.org/Daylilies/th... |

Rita, FabF didn't bloom last year. I actually cheat - I have my darker daylilies where they are shaded until about noon. Makes for good photos. I have another bed that is full sun, and I have yellow, peach, pink in that one.![]() |

They are all beautiful, I loved the color on the Kansas Kitten too. Fabulous Frieda is an eyecather too. Beautiful. |

I got mine last year but it didn't bloom. I had my reds in part shade too and they looked pretty good but a big tree came down this spring. Now its full sun. Much better in general and I like it all much better. But the reds in there are not looking as good, kinda melted. |
