This is the first of Ludger's pure aureas to bloom for me.The bloom is disappointing but at least it has good shape and is a pure aurea. For those not members of BGI, go here for more info. http://99-40.com/brugs/ludgers... ![]() ![]() |

The bloom looks "stocky" in the picture. Is it a smallish bloom? Her curls are cute though. Rhaps Walk in Peace, Walk in Light, Blessed Be! |

What are the attributes of 'pure aurea' that make it so good, JT? Elaine "Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm." –Winston Churchill |
@ Rhapsody good eye.It is a small bloom. @dyzzy* Pure aureas,at least those we have assumed were pure, are characterized by large blooms with long tendrils and intense color. They pass these features along to their hybrid offspring. This bloom f mine has none of those features except the long tendrils.I am hoping for better with the next plants to bloom. |

JT How many aurea seeds did you plant? Is it likely that the blooms on this one will gain in size as it grows? Walk in Peace, Walk in Light, Blessed Be! |

I planted over a hundred seed total but about half of them were cold group(all dead now) and some schlosburg crosses. There 14 of the aureas left after some serious culling. Is it likely this one will gain in size as it grows? No.It will not be growing. It's pointless to waste resources on something like this.Ludger put some strings on his seed so we aren't even supposed to share the plants but are free to share seed from them,or their future offspring. |
