Thanks! It's my first ever. Big Grin

I think this plant came from some landrace seed developed by member @joseph. I tried some others before this and they didn't germinate and grow, but these sure did! Hurray!

I am going to show my ignorance and ask: What is the difference between turnip and rutabaga? Or are they the same plant?

I guess they're basically the same plant? Maybe just the flavor is different? Shrug!

Basically,
- they're different colors
- they're different sizes, rutabagas usually larger
- they have totally different tastes

I don't think they're any more alike than a banana and an apple. Hilarious!

I guess I need to buy a turnip at the grocery and compare them! Hilarious!

All I know is that as a child, Mom served rutabaga and it smelled awful and was kinda orange. I ate it only if my Dad said I had to.

Turnips were white/green and usually chopped up and served as part of boiled turnip greens. Served with corn. bread really good!!!
As an adult I learned to eat raw turnips and really like them. Have never eaten raw rutabagas.

This one was very tasty both steamed and raw.
