I love to add a new Evergreen every year so I can add Winter Interest. Winters are so drab and boring, I just really need some color. Also looking for suggestions!

It's' Heavenly Bamboo (Nandina domestica)'' very easy to grow, never fussy.

It's pretty boring here in winter.
The Oakleaf Hydrangeas turn purple but leaves are gone by December.
Nice Bamboo Virginiarose.

Thank you! Here is a good one for winter interest because of the bright purple berries, Beautyberry.

This variety is supposed to be hardy to zone 6 as well as American Beautyberry, Purple Beautyberry and Welche's Pink Beautyberry. Seems like you might do ok with these if you mulch them well and/or plant them near foundation on south side?

This Sumac grows on the side of the roads here. I really want some of the cultivar 'Tiger Eye Gold'. I love the color! I guess this would be more for Fall interest.

Beautiful color! I love the cotton also. Green Grin! Here is something that grows on the side of our interstates also some Burning bush from a Doctors office. Winter interest?

Yep. The non-poisonous ones, at least. When I was young I suffered a serious case of poisoning that led to a high fever delirium...not to mention the agony of the skin lesions. So beware of plants in the wild until you know for sure.

Ours grows wherever it wishes...regardless. Hilarious! Even though I know what we have isn't poisonous, I still won't touch it! *Blush*

My Bluebeard Caryopteris incana Sunshine Blue is still looking good after a couple frosts. This will be my first winter with it, so not sure how long it will hold the gold color. Sante daisy is still blooming Nov 3. It has done great for the first year and has grown large enough that I will probably divide it in the spring.

The Seven Sons Tree, Heptacodium miconioides had white flower on it in late summer and a few are still blooming, but most are now showing the red bracts.

The miscanthus giganteus is about 14' tall and the leaves are turning a nice gold. It will look good until it gets a very heavy damp snow.

A couple other onamental grasses do a good job of hiding my compost bins. The one in front is Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus'.

Not sure how long Ascot Rainboe euphorbia will look good, but for now it is adding color.

Last year my Ascot Raibow looked good the whole year round! I love it so much I bought another this year!

My Miscanthus giganteus has become a huge pain! I have three stands of it. I have hacked down one stand already. I have plans to take down the rest next weekend weather permitting. In the spring I am divesting of two of the stands.

Yes, I bought two in the spring from GHS and I am waiting for them to get big enough to plant out in yard. What is that hairy stuff on yours? Can't you comb your hair somewhere else? Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
