Rucky sent me some adenium seeds soon after I joined All Things Plants. I was so happy!!!!! I sowed them soon after and the little seedlings began to grow.
But on April 2nd there was a heavy rain and an important flood covered with water the city where I live.

It had never happened anything like that before. My house and my garden were under one meter of dirty water for fifteen hours.
I lost a lot of things: furniture, mattresses, my car and my little seedlings.
It was very hard to go back to normality.

Well, about two months ago I was looking for something else and I found the envelope where rucky had sent me the seeds and there was a seed inside !!!
I sowed it and it is the seedling I am showing you. I am happy again

Thank you Cheryl and Hetty ! It was a difficult situation but my husband and I stayed in an attic during the night and were safe. The next day the house was in a mess.
There was something good out of the disaster: Everybody helped friends and neighbours and you could see how good people are.

What a wonderful story for that little seedling. I'm glad you are recovering and that you found the seed.

Ceci, if you want, I could send you some more adenium obesum seeds. I just received 2 packets with 20 seeds in each and I'm only going to sow 10 of each because I don't have a lot of room left under my lights....and the seedlings I already have are growing like weeds! The two varieties I got are 'Double Black Edition' and 'Magenta Windmill'. I won't even ask you to pay for postage since I just LOVE feeding other peoples' new-found addiction to growing adeniums! I could even throw in some pachypodium seeds--I recently got some sent to me (for free) from a wonderful grower in Australia who has her pachys growing in the ground in her yard! The pachy seeds I have are of three types: P. sofiense, P. meridionale, and P. lamerii. Let me know if you want them....

Attached is a photo of my light fixture set-up......12 bulbs, T5 High Output fluorescent 48" long by 21" wide. You can see 4 P. meridionale seedlings at the very front in the black seedling tray, just to the right of the McCafe cup with nothing growing out of it--it has/had P. rosulatum seeds in it that never germinated....unlike the other three types!

Rucky sent me some more seeds that have nor arrived yet.
There has been a problem in the Post Office and the employees have been on strike. A lot of letters have not been delivered. Hopefully they will arrive one of these days.
