Hi Budgielover!!! Cam a frost bitten south Louisianan join in the chatter? "Faith is not about everything turning out OK; Faith is about being OK no matter how things turn out." |

Hi ya budgielover and Jeri ... glad to be here. Jeri: Some of us here in Florida have been a bit frostbitten this winter too, so you are in good company! My yard looks like crud ... ugly, brown, mushy plants! It's hard to look out the window the way it looks right now. I sure can't wait for March 1st so I can begin pruning and cleaning up the mess and seeing what has any life left! This is the Schefflera tree in my backyard as it looks a few minutes ago! Ugly, huh? and, the Hibiscus just to the right of the Scheff. It's depressing for those of us in the south who aren't used to seeing this very often. ![]() ~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt! ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! |

Oh Lin!!! I can so relate!!! I'm afraid that I've lost things I've had for years. Can't tell for sure until they don't reappear in the spring. I'm sitting here holding my breath and have fingers and toes crossed. I've swore I will dig up anything that comes back and haul it inside for next winter. Hey everyone . Charleen I love that picture with your red mule. We have riding mules and love them. Jeri I am so sorry for your losses and I am sure Jim will be too when you make him pay for new ones. Lin sorry about yours too. I didn't lose to may tropicals because I dug them up in Oct when we were about to flood. I lost hundreds of plants to the flood but I will comeback. Don't we all. It hurts to lose those big mature plants though. If I were talented at designing I would welcome the new slate, but I am not. Good to see y"all take care Cindy |

Lin - My yard looks like yours! ![]() Nice to see all the "sunny" faces here! :-) What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us. Garden Rooms and Becky's Budget Garden |

I hear you Becky. I am trying so hard to leave my pruners alone. LOL |
beckygardener Feb 3, 2010 6:01 PM CST |
LOL! Yeah ... it's killing me to see all that brown dead stuff everywhere. I wanna clean it all up! All my Passiflora vines on the east fence got wiped out. I am hoping they will come back. My yard may get a complete make-over this year if everything was actually killed to the roots. I sure hope not! Spent years growing my backyard garden and now it looks like a disaster. ![]() What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.
