We live in Tennessee and would like to plant as many fruit trees and nut bushes as we can find. I read that hazelnuts are a bush and produce fairly young. Persimmon and other natives top our list as well.
I have no idea how to wet up or run a co-op. Just a desire for 10+ of each variety I want. And no desire to buy from the big box stores.

I would think that at the quantity you're talking about, you might very well get a good deal from a local nursery without trying to do a co-op. It might actually be cheaper, if you didn't have to worry about paying for shipping. Just a thought.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but we have had excellent luck (and paid decent prices) at Cold Stream Farms: http://www.coldstreamfarm.net/

I like Weeks Berry, Burnt Ridge Nursery for odd ball stuff, and Adams County for fruit trees. Great quality and best prices I have found.
