Apparently A. atroviridis doesn't often form offsets. One experienced grower indicated species with elongated tubers, such as A. atroviridis, the tuber can be planted on it's side. This can sometimes initiate growth in dormant growing points.

Thanks Evan,
It doesn't appear to me that it has apparent eyes like some other tubers I've seen, but I'm not that experienced with Amorphophallus. The only other one I grow is A. bulbifer, which is easy as it forms the bulbs on the leaf . I gently tried to pry apart but they weren't budging easy so I left it alone. No big deal, but wanted to separate if I should.

You have a beautiful plant mj. Have you had it for a while? I missed out on a couple of ebay auctions this fall. Here's 2 sites with pictures.

there's a 3 page timeline.

I just don't see any babies ... there's nothing in the pic that I would like to separate from the rest.
Cool tuber and foliage... love it!

No I don't think there's any thing to separate either. Maybe next year.

Evan, I bought it as a plant in a 4 in. pot late last spring. I ended up repotting it 3 times (finally into a 12 in. pot) to keep up with the growth. So that gives you an idea of how much the bulb grew last year.
