I have had 3 of these witch hazels going on 4 years.
I have been disappointed in the number of blooms they put out each year.
Are these slow growing naturally?
They are planted in sun and clay soil amended with compost.

My Jelena has been EXTREMELY slow growing. Also disappointing for me. Not much larger from the size it was when I purchased it 3 years ago....

I am O K with slow growth if thats what the shrub is . I did check for opened buds and they are exploding .I cant get to the shrub to photo. ( too much snow ) as soon as snow melts I'm there with my camera.
I have binocs that I use to see how the buds are progressing.

I have been looking everywhere for Jelena and only one nursery has a twig size in a gallon pot. I'm glad I passed on it if it's slow growing.
