Those of us who live in Florida are very lucky to have these birds year round. They are some of the friendliest and most trusting birds that come to my yard. Very curious and brave little birds! The bright red color of the males is really eye-catching! They are one of my favorite bird species. What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us. Thank you, all. They have to be one of my favorite birds, if not THE favorite. The shot is Lin's and I agree that it's a good one. ![]() Lucky you, David. ![]() I garden for the pollinators. |

Tee: Love the photo's of the Cardinals perched on the snowy branches! The Cardinal seems to be a favorite of many folks, especially the male because of the vivid red color. The Northern Cardinal has a wide range in the U.S. as shown on the map on the bottom right of this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N... These photo's are from last year: ![]() ![]() ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! ~ |

Nice shot of the female, Lin. I think they have a quiet beauty of their own. I garden for the pollinators. |
