It's sprinkling here. Our 10% chance showed up. Seems impossible. Funny seeing cactus and hail together, Tina! I grew up in CA, and we had hail fairly often. Trying to send this rain on to Linda and Debra. I hope it works. Natalie |

Linda, it was a perfectly beautiful day here, sunny, not much in the way of wind, some big puffy white clouds, high 52 degrees. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It's a relief to hear, Natalie.... I'd gotten so un-used to wild weather here that it really took me by surprise! The cactus, blooming Sea Thrift, and my little seedling getting pelted with hail was really an odd site for my eyes. Live and learn, CA occasionally gets some weather! I'll join the brigade for sending the rain on its way to Debra and LInda! ![]() Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of old; seek what those of old sought. — Basho Daylilies that thrive? click here! ![]() |

Tina, I grew up in a little town in the Bay Area, Northeast of San Francisco, and we even got snow once in a while! It was always cold and foggy, too. The only time it ever seemed to get hot was the first two weeks after school started. Natalie |

Tina, that's a nice little set up you got going with the potted plants. We are expecting up to two inches of rain for the next few days. I will take it!! robinseeds.com "Life as short as it is, is amazing, isn't it. MichaelBurton "Be your best you". "Mikedon" on the LA. |

I left some potted plants outside hoping for some showers. Apparently now we could get anywhere from 1/2 to 2 or more inches of rain. ![]() |

No sun today so makes it feel cooler than it should be. Still not really cold at all. But it means all the crocus are closed and have not opened up. I want them opening so I can see all the pretty kinds that I planted. |

We've got another 10% chance of rain today, and I'm expecting it to arrive. I'm demanding it. I double dog dare it to rain. ![]() Think that will keep it away? No, me neither. ![]() Natalie |

Rain this morning, hopefully clearing off this afternoon so I can go outside and start cleaning up the destroyed greenhouse area. It's my cats world, I'm just here to open the cans. |

Good luck with the greenhouse Kim. The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children. |

Still watching the snow melt here in the mountains, and it is melting big time. However, you guys are so much further ahead of me with your gardens. All that frost so far down in the ground from days of arctic temps this Winter, is now turning into mud. Which is why we call this 'mud season' here in the mountains. Almost got stuck in a muddy tire track trying to get back into my garage yesterday. I drive a little red sports car which is very low to the ground compounding the problem. Weather here in the past week has been so nice. Temps in the 40's and today low 50's with abundant sunshine. Only about 1/2 of my hillside garden is exposed, the rest is still covered in snow, and melting snowbanks. (But that's progress, folks!…and I am so excited.) It will take a few more weeks before I can even think about getting my hands into the soil. Spring skiing is fantastic this year. Meanwhile, I have been working with my new dl seedlings here in the house, and yesterday started my tomato seeds for the veggie garden which won't be planted until the 1st week in June. Watching the snow melt has given me time to do my taxes(ugh), pay bills, and oddly enough immersed in this missing Malaysian plane. It is unfathomable to me how a 777 with 239 people aboard can just disappear into thin air without a trace. Just a horrible tragedy for the families of the missing passengers and crew. It just seems we go from crisis to crisis these days. Will be glad to get back into the garden where the sounds of silence will be cathartic and restorative to my soul. Sending big bear hugs to all of my friends here on ATP. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
