Two years ago I got a Red Flame grapevine and arbor for my birthday. Last year I didn't know when to start protecting the grapes against the local garden predators, and I think we got to eat maybe six grapes total. This year, since the vine is too big to cover the whole thing, I figured out a strategy for protecting individual clusters. I took reusable produce bags (the mesh kind) and tied them around the best-looking clusters. Seems to be working, although it does look pretty silly!
Those grapes are sooo close to ripe now we can hardly stand it! We're out there checking daily, just waiting waiting waiting...
Does anyone else have any grape tricks to share?
