I have one hibiscus right beside my back steps, don't know the name, but it somehow manages to return every year with no care from me. Then I remembered that my Confederate Rose is a Hibiscus. I trimmed it way back for the first time this year, it was reaching for the sun and was extending out in the way when I mowed. It had gotten pretty large. |

Nice plant. I had one that volunteered in my yard but died the next year. wildflowersoftexas.com texasnatureonline.com |

Your pure white double is Confederate Rose too! About 10 years ago I grew 8 from seed and all the flowers on the plant were different from each other. I traded away all but one because It has the most amazingly different coloration I've ever seen on a Confederate Rose - an interesting bi-color .. When the buds start to open it's almost like someone took a paint brush to it on some of them! ![]() ![]() "The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." I'm happy it has made it. We had freezing temps last night. I think it was about 27° this morning. It didn't last long and warmed quickly, but I'm glad I brought a couple of things inside. I garden for the pollinators. |
