Can we eventually have a "watch this blog" feature?

I am planning on it. Not right away though.

I don't even know what a blog is, or how it is used.

A blog is like your online journal.

A nice place to keep up with when you planted a plant, or started a new garden, or received a trade, or began a new container. Quite handy when you are trying your best to remember if you planted the tomatoes the last week of Feb, or first week in March.

Also, my "spot" at Cubits is also a blog, so that's another use for it- just a general place to keep thoughts on what's going on.

Is it public or private?

Public.

Because we are not charging subscriptions, there will be scarce few private areas. Blogs are a picture heavy feature, which means that it is also a feature that we pay more for.

And it's a gardening site, so if you want more of a personal area that you can control who sees it, you can always create a cubit.

so it isn't for the blogger to use, it's for someone reading the blog to use? Like if Trish posted a recipe for salsa in her blog I'd click the permalink button to keep it handy?

Sure, that's one good way. Or you wanted to bookmark a certain entry, or send a link to that entry to someone else in email or some-such.

Is there going to be some way to organize our blogs? a tag cloud, or a monthly link on the right or left sidebar, or something?

ARRGGHHH! Why can't my thumbnails ever blow up to size? Remember I had to manually add the pics for articles on cubits? Well, it's happening again on my blog. I uploaded pics, dragged them and no go. It really drives me batty.
