Hello from Nebraska! I just joined up here and am navigating around to see everything. This caught my eye because I love growing heucheras. I have a lot of them and there is always room for more!! I have a lot of shade, where they thrive here in zone 5. I love buying new and different varieties when I can find them. |

My Heuchera photos are a mess, with missing labels. This weekend I'll work on sorting them to post if you are starting a photo thread. |

Hi Carolyn, just dropping by to wish you good luck with your cubit. I have quit a few Heuchrea growing near my watergarden, and got a few from Stormy at the swap last year. They can be as addictive as potato chips. LOL |

Welcome Chickadee and thank you everyone. Chris - I have found that you are right, collecting heuchera is as addictive as potato chips. Between what I have coming from a co op and what I already have, I have counted 61 and I am still looking at varieties I don't have..... This one is Prince of Orange. I picked him up last October. ![]() |

Oh, Carolyn, My Princes dried up and died over the summer. Don't let yours get too dry. They were in shade, but got late afternoon sun. |

Mary - Prince of Orange went in late - Mid Octoberish. We will see what happens over the winter. The lady at the nursery told me if the leaves were not withered, then the roots were still taking. So I jumped on it. He was half price..... |

I can't wait until my plants wake up from this long winter and I can get some nice photos to share. Any of you have Green Spice? It is one of my best! |
Carolyn22 Feb 7, 2010 6:46 PM CST |
Chicadee - Green Spice has been on my wish list for quite awhile. Do you have any pictures? I'd love to see some. |
chickadee Feb 7, 2010 6:56 PM CST |
sadly, at this time I don't. I will take some as soon as I can! I have three plants and they are buried under quite a bit of snow still... I used to work at a nursery, and I coveted all the Heucheras daily. The Green Spice I could not resist. Love em! Another I love is my Midnight Rose, oh so pretty! |

Chick, That's one of the few that I don't have. I love Midnight Rose too. |

I looked for pictures of the Green Spice we planted in the Heuchera bed in 2008 but unfortunately I didn't label the pics and I'm not sure if this is actually GS or Mystic Angel. They're very similar and it's hard to tell them apart! ![]() |

This is an older photo of some in pots and I KNOW it's Green Spice ![]() ![]() |

Debbie, Wonderful photos! I hope I can find a Peppermint Spice, sounds pretty. Your pics are making me lonesome for my plants! I also like that Mystic Angel, never seen it. Where do you find your Heucheras? The nuseries here have limited selection. Anyone have a good source? |

Hello, I'm Donna/dmac---joined a bit ago but haven't had a lot of time to come back and check out the site:) I first started w/ heuchera when I bought a 6 pack of Palace Purple at walmart for $2 about 10 years ago--I plopped 3 each in big square pots and one container is still going strong:lol: The co-ops I've stumbled across have allowed me to try others but I think I get too ambitious about how many I buy and can really tend too so uh, well, I get to buy new-well, often ![]() |

Hello all, I am known as Kenboy and only have one Heuchera ( Sothern Comfort ) that Maggi got two years ago. It has done very well here in Texas and I will be looking for more that can take out heat. I see this sight has not had much action as of late but also know Cubits.org is really just getting started. Does anyone know if Heucheras are deer resistant? |
Carolyn22 Apr 11, 2010 3:56 PM CST |
Ken I think they are deer resistant, however, I live in town and don't get many deer here in town. Southern Comfort is a beauty. I purchased her last year in a co op. Hopefully when summer really gets going, we will be able to get some trading going. Maybe you can add to your heuchera collection. Any pictures of Southern Comfort? |

A month late but yes I do have a picture of Southern Comfort; |

Nice one Ken. I love it because the leaves get so big. The Spring winds really made a mess out of mine this year. Can you add your picture to the database? ![]() Cubits Store: The Sempervivum Patch - Sempervivum plants! |
