Hi everyone - I'm Cheryl, I know some of you already know me. It's nice to meet the rest of you who have the same passion for heuchs! I just wanted to pop in to say hi and I'll soon be adding my pictures to the database as well. Ken - They say Heuchera are deer resistent but I have Caramel and Tiramisu in the front where the deer can get them and they chewed them down to tiny little stems. They're coming back but it's like starting brand new plants. |

I am heading off to work now but I would be glad to post in the database. I will also post more as I get them, This is not my last Heuchera. Heucheras are deer resistant but not deer proof, there is a difference. Hellebores are deer proof, enough so that if they eat them they will die. Here is why I do not have a deer problem; ![]() |

Oh, what a sweet dog. He looks like he'd do a good job of keeping deer away. Thanks for posting in the database when you get time too. Cubits Store: The Sempervivum Patch - Sempervivum plants! |

Thanks so much Carolyn and Goldfinch, nice to be here. I'm still trying to get the hang of Cubits. Ken - Aw, your dog is a cutie - and BIG! Yep Ken, you're absolutely right, deer resistent and proof are two different things! Well, my Heuchera were like deer candy I guess. They've culled the herd this past winter in the forest preserve so they haven't been eating everything like the used to (so far anyhow) since. I've got two pups of my own so I don't plant anything in the yard they can get to that's poisonous. I never know what those knuckleheads will put into their mouths and eat. Nice So. Comfort - I had 3 I tried to overwinter in their pots sunk in the ground. I lost all three. But of course the deer jumped in that area despite me putting 5' plastic orange fencing around it and tore a bunch of them out of their pots. I managed to save a couple of something, I'm not sure which ones they are, and they are in the Heuchera Hospital ward right now trying to recover! The villosa should do well for you down there in Texas. Heat and humidity don't seem to bother them too much. |

Hi all -- been on for a while (Hosta and Daylily Cubits) but thought I'd say a little hello from MN to all you Heuchera lovers! I only have about 6 different kinds but they seem to do well in my shade garden with my Hostas. ![]() Here's to adding one more addiction to my list!! ![]() "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." 2 Corinthians 9:6 |
