I admire people showing. I think I would pass out with the stress worrying about everything going right.

That's what some of our club members say but we do also have an off scape section at our show so you would only have to pick the blooms. Of course you don't get the rosette ribbons on the head table for the off scape but at least you are displaying something.

If you are only showing then it is wayyyyy less stressful because you just groom your scapes and fill out your tags and the show personnel do the rest. Now being a show chair is more stressful especially if you are showing also. The first year I chaired our show (plus I had a few more positions) I was so frazzled because I had never chaired before and had no idea really what I was doing. I was trying to get my plants ready to display and our classification and placement people had not arrived yet so I was doing that (with the help of a couple of members who were trying to get theirs ready also) and everyone was asking me tons of questions I had no clue about yet and I was trying to help everyone; I was a complete mess. But I came out ok and got through it Blinking

Michele, that's more stress than I could have handled. I don't show for a variety of reasons, but I admire the ones who do, and am amazed as I watch them prep their scapes. We hold a grooming clinic most every year, and I always learn something new. Thumbs up
