A friend of mine moved into a house last fall with an established garden. She is not a gardener, but wants to learn. She is posting photos for me to ID. Here's one I might know in person, but sure can't place by the photo.

Hardy Hibiscus. I'd bet it's one of the interspecific hybrids based on the leaves' non-uniform shape.
