I like the idea, but hate sites that require you to scroll through photos, especially if there are lot of them, because I am not a casual observer. Since there are so many sources of said photos, it is important to be able to compare and contrast to determine the voracity and correct identity. This a a very difficult task when having to scroll back and forth.
Considering though, that in time the number of photos can become so large in some categories that it would take up the whole screen, relegating other galleries to a "hidden" status. I would suggest that the photo galleries be individually listed first, each in a single line, for each DB entry, so one could click on them to see the corresponding gallery. I might also suggest that either:
1) a gallery not be listed if there are no photos posted for that gallery, or
2) always have all the galleries listed, but somehow signify if there are any photos posted to a gallery. Not only would this streamline a visitors inquiry, but this would have the added advantage of encouraging members to fill gaps needed for accurate identification.
