HBV usually hosts hummers from mid July through August. Same time as my Gloriosas do. I guess where they have been before must start to fizzle out and they're looking for other good nectar sources.

Beautiful J Thumbs up So many flowers!!
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

Oh that is pretty! I've only seen two hummingbirds this year and that was in late May! I haven't seen any since. I'm kind of worried about them here.
"The Universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. It speaks in the language of hope; It speaks in the language of trust; It speaks in the language of strength, and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul. But always, it is the same voice. It is the voice of our ancestors, speaking through us, And the voice of our inheritors, waiting to be born. It is the small, still voice that says: We are one. No matter the blood; No matter the skin; No matter the world; No matter the star; We are one. No matter the pain; No matter the darkness; No matter the loss; No matter the fear; We are one. Here, gathered together in common cause. we agree to recognize this singular truth, and this singular rule: That we must be kind to one another, because each voice enriches us and ennobles us, and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the Universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light the way to a better future. We are one."

I also add large rocks (being a rock/mineral collector has given me a nice pile of "Leaverite" (should have left em there) to pull from). Addition of large rocks (once the stems have broken through) adds 'ballast' to the creation as a whole, but more importantly adds the weight necessary to help stabilize the creation when beset with summer thunderstorms. The glories get thick enough growing up those trellis' that were they not grounded securely they could sail across these midwestern prairies like a land ship. Sometimes I also surround the large pots with large bricks to provide even more support structure.
