Was it's abdomen bare & shiny J? If so, it was a carpenter bee. Cool shot either way. I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I don't know; I didn't even know Carpenter bees looked like Bumbles till your post. Henceforth I'll try to be specific when observing them. Nothing that's been done can ever be changed. |

A few from last evening.![]() ![]() ![]() One of the volunteer sunflowers is very close to where our patio seating area is located. There haven't been many weeds on this side of the yard, because it was zeroscaped with rocks. I am glad for the volunteers that give something interesting to look at while taking a break from the garden. Especially when the evenings are not so hot. I was working on my cement planters, but had to stop to take photos, although I knew rain was coming because I could see storm clouds almost all around. I think my back is very glad every time I pick up the camera. My spirits are always uplifted, especially seeing all the different wasps visiting, and noticing being watched. He sure is. I wonder how much that pollen weighs in relation to their bodies? I *still* always wonder how some of them can manage a take off when they're so loaded down with pollen. ![]() I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. Some of those bees really do look quite loaded down with pollen. I saw a bee that I thought was two bees because of the full pollen sacs. It was quite a surprise that it was just one. I thought I captured it, but I had a lot of bee pictures that were just blurs. There were so many bees moving and flying around the sunflowers, I couldn't decide which to capture. The wind was really knocking those sunflowers around, and thankfully the storms brought a really wonderful amount of rain. It also rained this morning. But I haven't gone out to the front yard because I'm sure there are some rain-damaged sunflowers I don't want to see. "A garden is a friend you can visit any time." - Anonymous |
