|Hi, I have started a few roses from cuttings, but feel that it has been just luck.
Is there a best time to start them?
From current season growth or last year?
Use of rooting hormone?
The few that I have had start, have been put into the garden soil and when new growth started. I potted up.

Sorry no one responded, including me, to your query. We had just discussed cutting propagation in this thread:
The thread "diseased rose bush? PLEASE help!" in Roses forum
I think you will find some good info there.
I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.
