![]() By Toni | The wax plant is one of my favorite houseplants. I recently broke my leg, which forced me to focus on indoor gardening for a while. As I was sitting here mending, I noticed that my sweet 16-year-old Hoya carnosa is blooming. What joy that has given me. Oh, it has bloomed each year for many years now, but I guess I had semi-ignored it as my heart lies in the outdoor garden. I did not know you could use just a leaf! My hoyas spend the summer outdoors hanging under trees and that makes them very happy, even in our extreme heat. If they have any mealy bugs on them in the spring when I take them out, the birds get busy cleaning them off. That way I can stay organic!
