Charleen, I am guessing that you can over winter brugs in GA? I wish I could I tried but lost mine. I did have luck storing one under the house. I hate fighting the gnats when I brought them in. I do miss them!! |

Theresa, I have discovered a product known as Diatomaceous Earth. it is a very fine dust, I am going to try using it this year. I am hoping it will help. don't give up. Once they start blooming you will find it well worth the time ,fertilizer, and water that goes into growing them.... |

So you do bring them inside? I had seen one person in TN said that they wrapped the trunk with heavy burlap and mulched deeply over the roots. |

I have Peanut. It is small but I would be willing to send out a cutting! Walk in Peace, Walk in Light, Blessed Be! |

Rhapsody, did you see one of mine you wanted? I don't want you to send me one and it delete your collection...If it is too green, it may not make it... Teresea, I am going to bring cutting into the house just to be sure I have some next year. My Brug don't start emerging from the ground til nearly May. So you know I am wondering if they will make it or not. I do mulch them with pine straw. Just got to keep chickens in pen so they don't scratch it out. Have you all seen or heard from Elizabeth?? I looked to see if she had any new posts and didn't see anything. I will try to get over here more.... |

Ridesredmule, how do you apply the DE? And the proportions? Good for all bug "disposition"??? LOL |
Ridesredmule Oct 2, 2014 5:12 PM CST |
I have a duster i use. I dust it over the plants.... The DE I use is food grade, that is what they recommend. I got it at my feed store.... but I believe someone told me they found some at Walmarts too. ![]() Got this last fall and now I got a bloom. Charles Grimaldi... Hope this helps.... |

Have you grown any of the doubles with whiskers? I have only seen the pictures of those. They are stunning! Do you have mules now? Growing up on a grain/cattle farm yrs ago my Dad had a pair of red mules. Kit and Belle. We moved when I was in first grade and he sold them both and never bought any more. I do have fond memories of them. |
