It seems like it might be perfect for a shady section in the back yard I'm planning.

No worries it not hardy in our area. You can take cuttings and keep as a house plant if you like.

I had that growing in one of my flower beds in SoCal. It sort of took over, but it was pretty easy to control.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

woofie's right....Even here in North Florida, I've not really had a major problem with it. Easy to control, and worth it in my opinion! A beautiful shade of purple with a really cute pink flower.
