Any type of garden peas, including snap peas, snow peas and shelling peas, can be easily and successfully grown in large pots.

Great idea! I can never get Joe to prepare the garden early enough to grow snow peas, and I love them raw & in salads. Now I can do it myself!

Another advantage is that the peas in the pots sprout much faster than the ones in ground. The soil in the pots gets to warm up quicker than my garden soil.

One year I planted in ground and in pots. The ones in ground took 3 weeks to start spouting and the ones on pots took 4 days to start sprouting.

Another advantage of the pots is that one can place them in the sunniest spots so that they do sprout faster.

That's a great idea, Rita. I could put the pots on my patio and have lush, bright greenery for the season.
