I report every year.. that map is way off.. I didn't see a hummer for more than a month after that map reported they were here.. I wonder if people see the hummingbird moths and think they are hummers.. and I had feeders out when they were supposed to be in NC.. on there way here.. phooey... I say!! .. wasted a lot of sugar for nothing.. my first one was 5/15.. and I report to that site & this one

It's fun watching the dots progress northward. Spotted my 1st on May 5th, about 4 weeks after they were reported in my area. I've assumed mine were here to nest and as I'm not here to see them during the day I figured any stop-overs heading further north I missed. I did notice that my sugar water had gotten moldy when I saw my first hummer of the year. I know that feeder was spic and span, so I'm thinking that I might have had a stop-over or two and didn't see them. Next year I'll put the feeder out early April again on the off chance I may get lucky.

yeah I will do it as well.. wishful thinking I call it but it was a bit later than the year before.. nice thing about that site I posted.. you can get your past results as well as currant ones.. can compare dates year to year

I do enjoy them so much.. always worth a shot putting the feeders out early.. and getting as many spring bloomers I can grow
