I'd love to see a picture of the whole tree at maturity, it must be glorious. Is that a spring bloom?

Yes these are pretty common here and bloom in Spring (late May early June).

This is the only photo I can find right now, not quite the whole tree but you get the idea.



Laburnum arches were quite the fashion for Victorians, I think Bodnant garden in Wales has a fine one.
