I have these groundcovers growing wild in a partial shade area:
1. Is this dichondra?

2. Is this chickweed? It has never bloomed

I didnt know dichondra grew wild, as my parents struggled to grow it for years in CA, though i guess it has to grow somewhere.

Is it easier than caring for a lawn? Use less water?

I don't think it tolerates drought or heavy foot traffic, but it is supposed to need little if any mowing and to stay green in mild winters.
