Hi All,

I need to replace a whiskey barrel that a rose is planted in and outside. What would be the earliest that I can safely re-pot? Whenever the soil is work-able, I'd imagine? First time doing this and just want to make sure there's not something I'm overlooking. Thanks!

That's what I would do, just wait till the soil is thawed and workable. I'm curious, what variety of rose do you have overwintering in a container outside? Must be a pretty hardy one...

It's a Don Juan which I wouldn't think could overwinter in this manner, but it has for the life of the barrel ( 7-8 yrs?) without any added insulation. It's located in a protected area, which must explain it. Thanks for your confirmation!
