When I first walked in the door, I looked for the five orchids I had dropped off yesterday for judging. I soon saw that I had won three ribbons, one each of first, second and third place. The big surprise was which one won the blue ribbon. Here they are in order:

So the huge Den. spectabile gets a second place ribbon and I thought it would win blue in a walk. C. skinneri and the big Ctt. Eva, both heavy with blooms, won nothing and the blue ribbon went to Rth. Carolina Golden D'Or which I just entered for grins. Go figure. Anyway, enter 5 orchids and win three ribbons isn't too shabby.

On with the show, these first few pics are of the general displays:

And here are some individuals that I thought were outstanding:

The C. Martin Wolfe and the Zygo Rhein Harlequin just blew me away but I couldn't find them to buy. I intend to keep looking. It was a fun day and it is nice to share with you all.

Fabulous, Jim. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your ribbons!

Sure are some beauties to add to the 'wish list' in that display. Sighing!

Gorgeous plants and flowers. Congrats, Jim.

I guess I need to go out and take some pictures of a couple of varieties that are loading up with inflorescences, but not in flower. I'll put them on the "Anticipation" site. The rain has just started, slowly falling. We are supposed to get 2-3 days of it, very heavy at times, with 3-5" expected. Now that it has finally gotten a bit warmer, I still can't go outside and play! Sticking tongue out
