While we were wandering around Philip's gardens, when my husband, Dan, happened to notice a little hosta that he really liked. It was Baby Bunting. Philip wasn't dividing his just yet, but, the next place we went to, Web Walk Way, had it and now so do we. This is one of the first times Dan has ever taken an interest in my hostas. ![]() ![]() Baby Bunting ![]() |

Judi was tickled when Dick came with us to Des Moines (2 yr. ago?) on a garden tour. He pointed to a couple and said "we have that one, don't we?" AND he was right. |

We thorouhly enjoyed ourselves. Talked alot with Moby and Dave, and Jeff and Marie. We had a nice visit/stay with Arlene's friend Rachael and her family. Rode a restored trolly car, watched (forgot the name of it) - a parachute small air vehicle (big fan like a swamp buggy and rides 2 passengers). Exchanged some plants, ate good pot-luck. Rachel located a flea market for us to visit on the way home. A very nice relaxing weekend. |

My husband will praise my gardening efforts, but he usually doesn't get excited about anything, until...my he went on a mission with our kids to find me a hosta that I wanted for Mother's Day. I tried to make it easy on him: when my daughter asked which hosta I needed for my collection I told her one I knew would be easy to remember and that was at the local nursery--'Maui Buttercups." So, the Saturday before Mother's Day, off my family went. But... the nursery was sold out of 'Maui Buttercups.' ![]() ![]() At any rate, I think that trip started to make DH interested in hostas...just a little. I told him that I wanted to put some Star Trek themed hostas in my next bed and he was pretty excited. I pointed out some photos of 'Captain Kirk' and 'Vulcan' and 'Enterprise.' He said, "Well, the bed can't just have three hostas..." So he came up with the idea for a sci-fi theme, which opens the field up a lot. I like the way he thinks. hehe Check out Petiole Junction, my garden blog! (I'd love your comments.) |

Good move, Karen (whatever works). He will start noticing the differences in plants, then deciding what he likes about each besides the names. KitGary - the weather was perfect as well for the whole trip. Sunny, light breeze. Overcast for the drive back. What more could you ask? |

I love the little Snow Mouse you picked up!!! and the "land of Mini's"..... I am going to have to create a little "Land of the Mini's" too! I have mine kind of mixed in a few different spots. I will have to get some shots on here.... ![]() "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." 2 Corinthians 9:6 |

I have a Mouse garden with a smug wire cat overlooking it. You'll find 'Country Mouse', 'Blue Mouse Ears', 'Holy Mouse Ears', 'Frosted Mouse Ears', 'Cat and Mouse' and to be added when they arrive, 'Snow Mouse' and 'Mouse Trap'.![]() Ann Pictures of all my hostas, updated annually and tracked since 2008 begin at: https://violaann.smugmug.com/G... |
