In case anyone is interested in this peony, this is on sale for $25 at Swenson peony. They also have a bunch of other peonies priced lower this year. I was able to get Green Lotus and the Fawn for only $15. According to their blog, they needed to clear a field of peonies due to moving them to a new bed, hence lower prices. |
Wow, they have some nice peonies on sale. ![]() ![]() |

I don't think I've seen Old Faithful for that low of a price, either--$30. Think I paid $50 last fall, very good prices! LizB |

i purchased 4 Itoh peonies from them in 2013. I was very pleased with the size of the roots that they shipped. I believe that they all bloomed last year. Paeonia x (Itoh) 'Border Charm', Paeonia x (Itoh) 'Pastel Splendor', Paeonia x (Itoh) 'Prairie Charm', Paeonia x (Itoh) 'Scarlet Heaven' all priced at $40. |

Wow! Great prices on both Etched Salmon and Old Faithful, 2 I've been wanting! And the Itohs have come down considerably too. "...and don't think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter. It's quiet, but the roots are down there riotous." Rumi |
You all might want to check out Fina Gardens too. They have Lemon Chiffon for $125. Most other places have it from $150 to $200+. they also have Bartzella at $65. And if you order by 3/31/15 you get 10% off your order. http://finagardenspeonies.com/... ![]() |

I looked at the Swenson site, I didn't see any sale items, am I missing something ![]() "Aspire to inspire before you expire" author unknown |

Annette, I didn't see it listed as a sale, but the prices have been dropped. Diann, I noticed Swenson now has Bartzella priced $50, as well as Garden Treasure and Canary Brilliants. They have a soft yellow just called Japanese ITOH for $35, a lovely one and the best price on an ITOH I've seen. "...and don't think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter. Annette, their listed prices this year are less than what they were last year by $5-$10 for herbaceous peonies and some itohs by $15 to $20. For example, last year, Diana Parks was $35/ea and this is year, it's $25. And Green Lotus was $20 last year, this year is $15. The reason I know this is because I was looking to acquire these last year but did not. |

Karen, thanks for posting this information. I'm glad to hear they have a price reduction. I have looked at their site in the past, but never ordered from them, because I thought they were too expensive. That may now change ![]() ![]() "Aspire to inspire before you expire" author unknown |

I ordered from them fall 2013. Their roots were the same size as Adelmans and most of the other major sellers. I had several bloom last spring from them. I also ordered quite a few from them fall 2014 to include the no name Itoh you mentioned, Neal! Hoping it'll bloom this year..... LizB |

Ooohh, hope it blooms for you this spring! Looks like such a pretty shade of quiet yellow. I think my orders this year will go to Swenson and Adelman's. Oh, who am I kidding? I know I won't be able to resist that buy 2 get one free sale from Klehm's, LOL. "...and don't think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter. It's quiet, but the roots are down there riotous." Rumi |

Annette - how many varieties of peony do you have now with your new order? I am running out of planting space but am so tempted to order just a few more. ![]() |

@soilsandup, Dianne, I have ~146 varieties between the herbaceous, ITOH, and tree peonies. I keep removing more grass, and adding beds for the peonies. Who needs grass anyway😁 Today, I visited one of my favorite nurseries, Pike's, looking to replace my Kwanzan Cherry trees that we had to remove last fall, due to disease. Well.... JACKPOT, the 2 locations I visited here are already starting to get in potted peonies. I got a second Pink Hawaiian Coral, I had already planted a tuber in the fall, and couldn't resist the potted plant. ![]() They had a table full of potted peonies, and 3 ITOHs. I could have gone wild, but I restrained myself to one plant....... for now ![]() ![]() ![]() "Aspire to inspire before you expire" author unknown |

Wow!! 146 ![]() I only have about 50, and that is after I removed all my lawn area and was able to buy 25 more in the past 3 years to add to my existing 25. Pink Hawaiian Coral is one of my favorites. Here is last year's pic. ![]() ![]() |

Dianne, PHC is GORGEOUS! Thanks for sharing your beautiful picture. I planted my new one this evening, and gave it nice drink of Neptune's Fish and Seaweed Fertilizer with Stay-N-Grow minerals. I may have to mulch it, we're getting freezing temps again this weekend. "Aspire to inspire before you expire" author unknown |
Cem9165, why resist, you know you're just going to go back and buy more? Come Cem9165, come to the dark side, we have tons of peonies. ![]() ![]() |
