|Anyone have any success growing redbud from seed? I noticed a tree on my property line for the first time and collected lots of mature seedpods.|
I love butterfly gardening & am active in NABA. Please visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/group... & website nabageorgia.weebly.com.

|Redbuds are easily grown from seed, to the point where they could almost be described as weedy. |
If the pods have been outside all winter, you'll probably get decent germination simply by removing the seeds and planting them in a pot (or in the ground). You can, however, improve the germination rate by rubbing the seeds between two sheets of coarse grit sandpaper for a few seconds before you plant them.
