We came from here, (where I was still eagerly anticipating some end-of-the month-collection of beauties from @TedM)
The thread "Our Orchid blooms in March 2015" in Orchids forum

It is still very chilly here in the NE today with some white dusting on lawns! But, it is toasty in the greenhouse and the seasonal blooms are moving right along!
The Bulbophyllum levanae 'Waterfield' is busting out with a bunch of spikes.
Thumb of 2015-04-01/Ursula/4eb3da Thumb of 2015-04-01/Ursula/35c730
Cattleya lawrenceana is blooming with a problem, two of the blooms are properly shaped, the third shows the dorsal sepal stuck to the column. Last year all blooms showed this defect, I almost pitched the plant, but then gave it another chance. But it now seems designated for the compost pile. What do you think?

Dendrobium Love Memory 'Fizz' keeps blooming
Thumb of 2015-04-01/Ursula/8f609f Thumb of 2015-04-01/Ursula/65af52
Dendrobium superbum opens the first blooms on fairly short canes, but I take it!

Den smilliae still opens right along, and so does the Enanthleya Bob Gasko.

Maybe it is just still recovering? Last year all blooms showed defect, this year only one? So it seems to be making an improvement? I might test it for a virus just to be certain before throwing.

If it were mine, I would probably pass it to another member who isn't interested in showing orchids and just interested in growing or learning to grow. I would tell them of the issue and say that it is a reliable bloomer and good to learn on. That way if they kill it, they wouldn't feel so bad about it.

I've done that several times with plants that just don't have that "show quality" look.

Our local MOS has an orchid swap every year. That is usually the place I take mine. nodding

Now if I have paid a bit of money for a plant, I will put it in the auction usually when in bloom so they can judge for themselves whether it is worth their money to buy it. nodding

Here's the best I can do for blooms right now, my Phaius are in full bloom and I can't walk by them with the camera without taking a few shots. The first one is Phaius microburst 'Dan Rosenberg' (I had the name wrong before) and the second is Phaius tankervillea 'Oktoberfest'.

A beautiful array of color and form, Melissa. Thanks. I'll now slink off to my greenhouses and tend to all my NON-BLOOMING orchids. I guess I will have to be satisfied with the color "green". Sighing!

Ursula, I like your smilliae! I got one at Springfield, because I just love most of the Den species. I need to count how many I have!

The greenhouse smells great these days as Dendrobium superbum and now this one - Dendrobium Nestor open a bunch of buds and perfume the place with a nice top note of Raspberries.

and beware - never plant Pleurothallis restrepioides into a mesh basket, you will have a gigantic porcupine in a few years, keikis emerging from every opening. I restarted this one some years ago and always keep a couple of keikis in a cool spot during the Winter months. Most of the time I get 1 spike on these small starts, it surely needs cooler temperatures than I can provide.

Those are really lovely flowers, Melissa. Was this the first blooming? Unlike my Den. Aphrodite x Den. Golden Aya, yours does not look like it is semi-deciduous.

Not the first blooming of the plant, but my first time reblooming it. It is not deciduous, but the older leaves do eventually drop off the old canes. The blooms are on new mature canes rather than the old canes. Very similar to many Cattleyas. This one gets filtered sun on the East side of the GH but sheltered by the wet wall. The leaves are quite thin and sensitive to sunburn.

It's just a beauty, Melissa. I love that color! Too bad it didn't bloom in time for you to take it for the show.
