I need to rake the leaves off the heuchera bed soon after they fall, don't I?

It is not good to leave them covered with a lot leaves overwinter, this can cause crown rot.

Yeah, I finally figured out why they haven't been surviving for me......
OTHER things in that bed seem to like the leaves on them.....
