My son is renovating his yard and is getting rid of all the pavers and edging stones. He has about 3-400 of the stones still to get rid of and I told him I'd offer them up on ATP to see if any local gardeners were interested in them. They are currently in place still, but easy to toss into a pickup (the bulk of them are in a front bed next to the street). As you can see, the edging stones are pretty mossy, which could be left as is, or pressure washed to clean. Son lives in Woodinville near Cottage Lake. If anyone is interested, treemail me and we can exchange info. I just hate to see them going to the stone-dump. ![]() ![]() I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned. |

Oh, Deb, that is so tempting! But I could only take one trunk-load at a time, and store them until I have time to build more raised beds ... which means after retirement. Please thank him on my behalf, though! Just because it ISN'T complicated doesn't mean I can't MAKE it complicated! Rick, I had you in mind when posting this. Such a shame to just trash them...but he wants them GONE, so off they go. I suggested he post them on a local Facebook free site, hopefully he will do so. I'm actually walking around my place trying to figure out where I can use any of them -- so far: pavers under a faucet area I have long struggled with; edgers around the man-door to my chicken coop which is on a definite slope; either of them as a base to the chicken ladder (currently using uneven rocks). Still cogitating. Free is free. I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned. |

I would love to have about 30 pavers. Can I pick up on Sunday? Sempervivum for Sale |

Deb, I do have some spares right now, and I catch flack for making it hard to get out of cars in the driveway. So no more for me! By simply putting a 'free' sign out in his front yard, my son was able to get rid of all of them. Folks were happy to take them, and he's happy to be shed of them. Win win. I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned. |

Great! I thought the mossy covering would add to their charm. Just because it ISN'T complicated doesn't mean I can't MAKE it complicated! Yes, I took some of those to build out the entrance to my chicken coop and have left the moss on. I'll post a picture when it's done. The coop and yard are on a slope (well, everything at my place is on a slope...) and this will make it easier to navigate and more attractive. Plus, it makes your chicken coop look like it's been there since Henry the Third. Just because it ISN'T complicated doesn't mean I can't MAKE it complicated! I bought some bricks at a garage sale. I lined a bed along a sidewalk that kept having dirt wash on it. It required a little digging and pulling old stuff out but it really looks nice. Plus there was a spot by the back deck where you stepped off that took forever to get green. I dug down about 6", put in crushed rock, then sand and placed two 12x12 by 1" pavers down surrounded by some of the left over brick. Not quite level though I did try. The center paver is a bit low. I could pull it up and put down a little more sand but it would then destroy the surrounding block. Too much work. Only shows up when it would rain and due to the nice sand and gravel underneath is drains away quickly. |

We just got done with a second work weekend at my older son's house, and he also had a pile of bricks and pavers, bike rack, and other unwanted items. He had great luck posting as free on Craigslist and since we were there all weekend to respond to inquiries, everything got taken. So nice to upcycle rather than toss.
