The leaves are anyway. But I never planted anything there although we've had to dump pond water in this area a few times.

Yeah... I was going to leave those pretty leaves but I knew I'd never planted anything remotely like it in that spot and it was sort of innocently lounging behind my ligularia. I figured check it out. This is it:

Geum canadense is not a weed, it is a lovely native wildflower very much appreciated by many.

It does tolerate shade very well, it usually grows in the woods around here.
